Job Title: Outbound Delivery Processing Officer

Reports To:  Outbound Delivery Processing Manager

Purpose:
  • To be the internal point of contact for the resolution and release of documents blocked during the billing process.
  • Ensure

  • billing documents are processed, archived and mailed
  • To carry out all hands on distribution and data processing activities so as to fully support packaging department and deliver against orders to GN customers and distribution centres while ensuring effective and efficient Inventory management standards are maintained
Context:
  • Nigeria is currently the world's third largest market for the Guinness Brand and plans to become the largest in the next three years. 
  • Guinness Nigeria has an aggressive expansion programme to increase current capacity from 2.8m hls to 5.5m hls over the next 5 years requiring an investment of £166m.
  • This initiative will increase GN's supply chain responsibility and will require concerted efforts of personnel to manage the challenges that will arise there from.
Top 3-5 Accountabilities:
  1. Receive, store, record and issue all outward goods (fulls and empties) and scheduling, loading of all outward goods (fulls and empties) in line with issuance/despatch instructions.
  2. Reconcile physical stock to the inventory listing balance in SAP system daily, weekly and monthly
  3. Prepare and circulate all periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) inventory reports
  4. Process distribution documents in SAP and reconcile sales despatch figures and reports to physical stock while ensuring that customer credit limits are not exceeded.
  5. Maintain compliance with statutory, GNPLC and Diageo standards in warehousing, physical distribution and inventory management
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • University Degree.
  • Computer literate and ability to work under pressure and respond to tight deadlines.
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in a related, operations or inventory management role
  • Good interpersonal skills, convincing personality and a team player.
  • Good Communicator, commercially aware and able to adapt to a fast changing operations environment.
  • Strategy focussed.
  • Live the Diageo values.
  • Understands links between own role and overall Diageo strategy.
  • Is prepared to make well reasoned challenges to accepted and entrenched practices
  • Should be able to develop and maintain warehousing and inventory management best practices in accordance with Diageo warehouse management standards.
Skills/knowledge
  • Fully conversant with inventory management processes using SAP.
  • Detailed knowledge of Diageo warehouse management standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of Diageo Risk Management, Environmental and Safety Standards.

Key Accountabilities
  • Buying competitively (by keeping abreast of the forces of supply and demand that regulate prices and availability of materials) and wisely (involves constant search for better values that yield the best combination of price, quality and service)
  • Developing reliable alternative sources of supply materials and services
  • Development of proper and streamline systems and procedures relating to the purchasing function to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and at the lowest reasonable operating cost department such as the Warehouse, Supply, Production and Finance departments
  • Co-ordination with local toll manufacturing sites, sales and marketing departments regarding production schedules or changes in material, production or packaging specifications.
  • Developments of strategies for maintaining the company's competitive position by controlling costs relating to materials and imported finished pharmaceuticals and thereby maximizing profit
  • Development of purchasing forecast, production and delivery schedules of imported products and materials with a view of striking a balance between availability and holding cost
  • Advising the management of changes in the parameter of costing of impact of negative variances and maximizes opportunities that comes with position variances
Requirements
You must possess:
  • University Degree
  • Professional Qualification in Purchasing & Supply
  • 6-8 years posts qualification experience in the industry with at least 4 spent in a leading others position
  • Computer Literate
  • Good Communication skills
